Seasonal Events
Danish Evenings - Hyggefest - Julemarked - Street Fair
Danish Eve
Every second Sunday from October through May we offer Danish Services at 3:00pm. These services are officiated in Danish but we do provide translated sermons for non-danish worshipers. It is a monthly opportunity to sing the Danish Hymns, listen to the sermon in Danish and, most importantly, experience the entire liturgy as if you were in Denmark.
After the Service there will be a social hour on the patio before we are seated for a three-course Danish Dinner prepared by our Danish Chef Jim DeLeo. The evening can be hosted and sponsored by a group or individuals and the evening may have a short program. Mostly Danish Evenings are about “hygge” – sitting down, relaxing, enjoying good food and fine fellowship.

JULEMARKED - Christmas Fair (November)
JULEMARKED the last Saturday of November
at 9 am - 3 pm
The Saturday after Thanksgiving we host our annual Julemarked (Scandinavian Christmas Fair) with Danish, Swedish and Norwegian vendors selling items imported from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland or that feature Scandinavian themes. Artisans and crafters offer high quality, unique and one-of-a-kind glass, ceramics, paper art, paintings, jewelry and fabric art.
Volunteers on site prepare traditional Danish smørrebrød-–elegant, elaborate open-face sandwiches; æbleskiver (Danish pancake balls) with powdered sugar and raspberry jam, as well as strong Danish coffee and gløgg, the hot Scandinavian yuletide drink (mulled red wine with cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, raisins and slivered almonds).
Danish pastries and selected meat products are also available for purchase.
On average we have 450 guests during the one-day event. Doors are open from 9 am – 3 pm. For inquiries or additional information please contact please complete the form below.
The Orange International Street Fair
Our church and cultural center was a fixture of the annual Orange International Street Fair each Labor Day Weekend since it was founded. However, we have not had a booth at the Fair since 2019. Instead we focus on events like HYGGEFEST and JULEMARKED at the church. Please come and join us. At both events we bake the Danish delicacy Æbleskiver served with raspberry jam, powdered sugar and lots of smiles.
Æbleskiver are best described as a kind of pancake ball, made from a batter poured into a pan with half spheres. When an initial half shell is formed the æbleskive is turned incrementally to form a ball and then repeatedly turned with a bamboo skewer until the ball slips easily from the pan. Once ready the hot-off-the-pan æbleskivers are topped with powdered sugar and raspberry jam.
